Dentists of Ivanhoe Central is pleased to announce that their practice is now able to see patients for all types of treatment. In the wake of COVID-19, many dental practices were closed or could only offer emergency dental treatment.
Per the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) and the Dental Board of Australia (DBA), restrictions have been eased down to Level 1.
When Dr Shehan Warusevitane, the owner of Dentists of Ivanhoe Central, heard about the easing of restrictions, he remarked “We were one of a select few practices around Ivanhoe that remained open during the pandemic offering emergency dental services. Unfortunately our patients who were planning on coming in for a check and clean, or even looking forward to having some cosmetic dental work had to postpone their visit. Today’s news means that we are able to provide ALL dental services like we used to as long as you are feeling well and healthy and have not been in contact with any suspected or confirmed cases of COVID-19”
According to the Australian Dental Association (ADA), dental offices already operate with a high degree of health protection. Even though restrictions have been eased down to level 1, Dr Shehan’s practice will still be carrying out additional health protection measures including social distancing in the waiting room.
Dr Shehan adds “Our top priority is to the safety and health of our patients. When a patient comes in for their appointment, we want them to feel safe, so we have implemented best-in-class sterilisation and cleaning procedures above and beyond the guidelines.”
Based on the number of phone calls received in the past several weeks, people in and around Ivanhoe are anxious to resume, as close as possible, a normal routine, including regular visits to the dentist’s office.
In summary, Dr Shehan reiterates “Dentists of Ivanhoe Central is 100% open for business and we’re able to see all patients for any type of dental treatment. If you have been putting off any cosmetic dentistry work such as Invisalign or dental veneers, you can now call our practice or make an appointment through our website or the Smile Docs website to meet with one of our experienced dentists.”
