Dentures are an option for replacing missing teeth. They are a removable plate which hold one or more artificial teeth and can be good option if your jawbone cannot support dental implants.
As dentures are customised specifically for you, they can sometimes take up to four visits to make them. During your initial visit we will perform an oral examination, x-rays and impressions. We will also discuss the shade, size and shape of your new teeth.
During your next appointment we will discuss your bite to ensure your upper and lower teeth line correctly. We will also create a wax mock up which will allow you to understand the look and feel of your dentures before finalising the set.
Your last appointment will be your insertion date when you get to leave with your new set of dentures.
Full dentures are used when there are no teeth on the upper or lower jaws.
Both top and bottom dentures rely on the gum ridge and suction created by the denture for stability
Partial dentures are used when there are only a few teeth missing.
They are harmless to your remaining teeth and will help stop them from moving and drifting.
While they may take some time to get used to, they have a very natural look, restore functionality (speaking and eating) and help improve your overall appearance and smile.
Dentures are taken out every night and require daily cleaning with a denture brush and cleaner. Overnight they can be soaked in denture solution.
