Operating Under Level 2 Restrictions From Monday 28 September
As the Australian Premier said recently, “Victorians can be proud” of what we’ve achieved in getting on top of this second wave. In light of the decreasing case numbers, I am delighted to let you know that from the 28th of September dental practices in Melbourne will be operating under “Level 2” restrictions. This easing of restrictions is based on the recommendations by the Australian Dental Association (ADA) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
That means we are able to provide MOST dental treatment including non-urgent cosmetic treatment under the use of a rubber dam”. Some procedures such as non-urgent surgery may still need to be delayed for a few more weeks so please get in touch with us if you are unsure if your procedure can go ahead as planned. We will be using different instruments during your hygiene appointment to ensure we follow the current COVID-19 guidelines. We will be in touch with you regarding your upcoming appointment and will be more than happy to answer any specific questions you may have.
COVID-19 Safety Protocols
We are following strict COVID-19 protocols with a clear COVID safe plan for our practice.
Some of these protocols include;
- Contacting all patients prior to their appointment to confirm that they are healthy and well, and have not had contact with a confirmed or suspected case.
- If you feel unwell or has had close contact with a case, your appointment will be rescheduled Asking you to wait in the car (if possible) upon arrival to reduce traffic in the waiting area. 1.5m physical distancing will be maintained in the waiting areas at all times.
- Use of hand sanitizer, hand washing and mouth rinsing with an antiseptic mouthwash upon entering the premises and the treatment rooms Practicing universal infection control standards with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
The current environment is rapidly evolving therefore the need for further easing of restrictions will be assessed by the health authorities on a weekly basis. Should anything change, we will notify you as soon as we can.
If we had to cancel your appointment recently, we will endeavour to contact you to reschedule your appointment, or feel free to contact us at 03 9069 9689 or visiting our website at dentistsofivanoe.com.au and schedule your appointment online.
I look forward to seeing you all soon and getting back to taking care of your oral health.
Best regards,
Dr. Shehan Principal Dentist at Dentist of Ivanhoe Central
